Car Rental Terms

Customer terms for car-rental services presented through Commerce Service Group.

Last updated: September 21, 2026. These Car Rental Terms describe the proposed framework for car rental opportunities presented through Commerce Service Group LLC (“CSG”). They are intended to provide clear customer information while the final booking and payment architecture is completed. A binding car rental agreement will be presented and accepted in the applicable booking flow before a reservation is confirmed.

1. Car rental relationship and participant roles

CSG may present or facilitate access to car rental opportunities supplied by independent vehicle operators. The applicable car rental agreement is expected to be between the renter and the identified vehicle operator, subject to the operator’s vehicle rules, the booking terms and applicable law. CSG may provide booking, verification, transaction or document-management infrastructure where identified. CSG does not represent that it owns, operates or controls a particular car rental vehicle unless expressly stated in the applicable listing.

2. Renter eligibility

The renter must be at least 25 years old. Before a car rental reservation is confirmed, a renter may be required to meet license, verification, insurance, fraud-screening and other eligibility requirements. CSG or an operator may disclose additional requirements for a vehicle.

3. Booking, pricing and payment

Car rental pricing, taxes, fees, deposits, protection-plan options, cancellation terms, payment administration and confirmation process will be shown before a reservation is completed. A car rental booking is not confirmed until the applicable rental terms are accepted and the designated booking process confirms the reservation. A car rental booking is not confirmed unless and until payment with good funds is made.

4. Pickup and return documentation

At pickup, the renter and operator should document the vehicle’s condition, verify the rental period, confirm the authorized driver(s) and complete any disclosed deposit or handoff requirements. At return, the renter and operator should document the vehicle’s condition and return time. Customers should retain photos and booking communications for their records.

5. Renter responsibilities during the car rental

The renter must operate the vehicle lawfully, use reasonable care, comply with the operator’s disclosed vehicle rules, allow only authorized drivers, promptly report accidents, damage or incidents, and return the vehicle at the agreed time and location with the required fuel level or other disclosed condition. The vehicle may not be sublet or re-rented, used for illegal activity, operated while impaired, raced, used off-road unless permitted, used for passenger transportation for hire unless permitted, towed with unless permitted, or taken outside the agreed geographic area.

6. Damage, incidents and protection

The renter may be responsible for damage occurring during the car rental beyond normal wear and tear, subject to the final car rental agreement, applicable insurance, any selected protection plan and applicable law. In the event of an accident or incident, the renter should secure safety, call emergency services when appropriate, contact the operator, document the incident, make any required report and notify the designated booking or support channel promptly. A protection plan, if offered, will have separate terms and may include exclusions, deductibles and claims procedures.

7. Late return, cancellation and operator interruption

Late returns, early returns, renter cancellations, operator cancellations, substitute vehicles and refund eligibility will be governed by the disclosed booking terms, operator rules and applicable law. The applicable booking flow will state the timing, fees and refund process before confirmation.
